COUNTRY HEAD OF LEGAL
Excellent opportunity within Global International Distance Selling Group for an opportunistic candidate looking for a new in-house appointment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal support to ensure that all activities of the Company are within legal limits and regulations specified by the law and the Company does not get into legal fixes
- Provide legal support in customer claims settlements and disputes resolution on the basis of customer protection law and court practices
- Obtain license activities in accordance with existing local law
- Support marketing activities by examining advertisements and promotion campaigns in order to ensure that it does not trigger legal repercussion
- Provide expert legal support, advice and opinions in all areas of business activities (sales and marketing, operations and CRM, finance and HR etc)
- Review and negotiate commercial contracts
- All kinds of corporate issues (incorporation, registrations, reorganizations, IP rights registration and protection etc.)
- Development of the corporate governance policies and guidelines
- Present of interests of the Company in different high level executive meetings and in supervisory authorities, state agencies and industry associations
- As part of the senior leadership team, make decisions about various company transactions and activities
- Monitor legislation development which might potentially impact the activities of the company and keep Country CEO informed on significant legal developments
Skills and Requirements:
- Law School degree from an accredited law institute
- Male / Female 40+
- At least 10 to 15 years’ experience in handling legal matters
- Very strong knowledge regarding B2C law, legal and court procedures, consumer protection, advertising and personal data protection laws
- Practical experience with courts and supervision authorities
- Experience as in-house legal counsel in distance selling and retail companies, partner at law firm
- Excellent management skills
- Fluent English
