PASTRY LINE COOK - BEUKENHOF RESTAURANT
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for pastry and kitchen organization
- Receive direction from Executive Chef
- Prepares pastry and food in the kitchen
- Cooks good for large events or special occasions
- Works one or more kitchen stations including pastry, grill, boil or fry
- Responsible for garnishing and artistic elements during meal preparation
- Check quantity and quality of stock received and notify Executive Chef of deficiencies
- Maintain records of stock and orders items as required. Ensure that adequate stocks of food are maintained (fresh, frozen and dried)
Requirements:
- Male / Female
- Max. 35 years old
- 2+ years experience in a pastry professional kitchen (international class hotel)
- Have knowledge of ingredients and how to use them in a creative way to serve and maintain the food quality as requested by Beukenhof
- Understanding of food safety, equipment safety and sanitation regulations
- Positive attitude, excellent memory and ability to multi-task
- Ability to follow direction, work on team and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to handle stress well
- Time management skills
- Willing to work in hillside atmosphere
