Role Summary/Purpose


The position leads the Human Resources functionally for GE across all businesses for Indonesia. This challenging role has functional responsibility and strategic human resource management responsibility for approximately 1000 employees across a number of cities in Indonesia. It entails leading all Indonesia-based Human Resource Managers with functional leadership for the HR CoE resources. (Centres of Excellence - Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, L&D and HR Services).


Essential Responsibilities



  • Providing Leadership for the GE Indonesia Human Resources team, and strategic HR direction to define roles, organizational vision and facilitate the team’s performance and growth for the country.

  • Partnering with GE leadership teams, both business and Human Resources, to drive the strategic direction for the country while embedding a contemporary organizational culture, and accelerating growth, change and simplifying processes.

  • Providing leadership, direction and expertise for the full scope of HR functions and GE HR processes including performance management, reward & recognition, succession planning, talent management, salaried and non-salaried employee relations, employee compensation & benefits, employee engagement, recruiting and selection.

  • With the support of the HR team, develop and drive strategies to attract, develop, engage and retain strong and diverse talent

  • Partnership with the global HR COEs, to implement strategies and drive HR initiatives/processes that contribute to the development and overall effectiveness of HR at GE.

  • Leading the HR team to implement HR strategies and drive operational excellence in HR processes across the region.

  • Plan and execute strategies that ensure maximum employee engagement while actively managing country’s human capital and the HR budget.

  • Ensuring a dynamic pipeline of talent through rigorous performance management, e.g., leadership assessments, coaching and development of key employees, candid and timely performance feedback

  • Proactively managing HR systems in order to maintain integrity of employee and organizational data

  • Provide overall leadership & development for the HR team, delivering appropriate coaching, mentoring and development opportunities (including exposure to HR Business Partner skills and experiences), communicating proactively, and ensuring HR team engagement & retention

  • Responsible for and ensure client managers establish a commitment to compliance & quality, and communicate the importance of meeting statutory, regulatory and customer requirements. Aware of and comply with the company’s/business’ Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations


Qualifications/Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • At least 12 additional years of experience in a variety of Human Resource positions, both staff and client based.

  • At least 6 years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role.

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, evaluate people, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment and effectively interface with high-level Region, Product and Function leaders

  • Outstanding communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization

  • Able to energize and inspire others to commit to and take action on business priorities

  • Ability to support clients in multiple locations and open to global travel

  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills

  • Process and detail oriented, including strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements in Indonesia


Desired Characteristics



  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • In-depth understanding of HR concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience

  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic HR decisions, assessing leadership talent and effectively interfacing with high-level business and operations leaders

  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience

  • Coaching and leadership assessment experience

  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels

  • Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity and strategically promote an inclusive/diverse workforce

  • Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience, needed to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers/colleagues

  • Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team- oriented culture

  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills

  • Ability to energize and lead in complex, matrix, goal-driven organizations

  • Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others

  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
