EDITOR (Indonesian Conversant, Freelance)
Role description:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Editor to join our client’s globalisation team to participate in exponential international growth and drive global localisation initiatives. You will need to be a creative writer and thinker, with a passion for and understanding of linguistics and globalisation.
Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
- Immerse yourself in the detail
- Act as brand champion. You will be the voice of authority across all customer and employee facing content
- Manage the in-country editing of customer facing marketing materials, which are by nature creative
- Partner with editing teams across the organization to ensure alignment with the company’s tone of voice, ensuring clarity and accuracy of translations, and maintaining the highest possible standards
- Develop and maintain a consistent tone of voice, personality and cultural relevance for each language and country
- Leverage glossaries and style guides
Requirements:
- Must be a native Indonesian speaker and have a nuance understanding of language
- Fluent in English – written and verbal
- Extensive experience in writing, editing, proofreading and localising marketing communications for consumer facing, high profile brands
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Ability to follow the style of the tone of voice
- Willingness to work on more than one of the brands within the group
- Ability to create text that 'flows'
- Driven, well-rounded, confident, open and a good communicator
- Attention to detail
- Undergraduate degree and editorial experience or advanced degree. Ideal candidates will have previous editorial, proofreading and localisation experience at an advertising agency or marketing communcations group
- Candidates must be willing to travel locally and internationally when required
